I was pleasantly surprised to find this pink asparagus spear poking out of the ground this morning. It was fatter than my thumb and tasted like sugar coated asparagus. If you have never had fresh asparagus, it is a real treat. It tastes nothing like what you get at a restaurant or the grocery store. It is super-sweet, and I often eat them raw because they are so sweet.
This spear arrived two weeks earlier in the year compared to last year.
