Here is a photo of some of our Seascape strawberries.
In 2009, we planted approximately 150 day neutral bare-rooted plants of the following varieties: Ozark Beauty, Quinault, Ogallala, Tristar, Eversweet, and Seascape. We had a few strawberries ripen in 2009, but they were small and few.
In 2010, our Eversweet started to ripen on April 10th. The Seascape started ripening around April 14th.
The Seascape have been impressive and are producing huge berries. The Eversweet berries have been smaller in size. The plants don't seem to have come into full production yet. We have been hard pressed to get to the berries before the birds and squirrels, so I have been picking them before they get completely ripe.
This year, we are planting another 400 plants to replace the plants that died in 2009 before we put the drip lines in, along with the following June bearing varieties: Allstar, Itasca, Jewel, Lateglow, and Earliglow.
